Night Owl

I spent a Whopping $4.95 on my Halloween Costume this year.
Gotta love them Tin Foil 'Stars'
Hence - The Night Owl.

Edit:
So, I got dressed up in my "costume" to meet up with some friends tonight.
Long story short: Blue Line (train) is under construction + The very far Bar Destination+
Traveling/walking alone + Commuting back out to the Fucking Burbs late at Night =

Halloween Plans Shot to Hell.
A. I really wish I had a Car.
B. If I have to live in Chicago, I need to be living Downtown!

I've never been a fan of halloween unless friends and drinking are on the itinerary.

Now, I'm just bored and ridiculously homesick for los angeles.
Time for heavy consumption of Wine, Alone.

Mood

It's quite cold outside, the Blue line into the city is under,
and I'm feeling rather...
well, to quote molly:

'There’s no sense in wishing for the inevitable, but still: this year I want to skip ahead to the feeling of having surrendered Halloween night to nothingness— to an overstretched candy-corn-for-dinner stomach and a book and no curiosity whatsoever about what anyone else is doing.'

Nostalgia

My memories of
Constructing the Glow-Star Ceiling Galaxy
at age 8:

Piling pillows and books on the mattress to stand on.
jumping on the bed, arm stretched high.
Performing balancing acts on the dresser, bed frame, and a variety of chairs.

I took much pride and care in creating and naming my own constellations.
relishing in the sole splendor of viewing them.

When night fell, I would recline and gaze upon my own
Milky Way.
my thoughts would then fly a million miles a minute, until my drowsy eyelids fell.

Winged Words

I awoke in the turmoil of a violent sea storm.
no boat, no lifesaver, just a single body in the vast depths of an Ocean.
each crash, twist, and turn of the waters, swallow me whole;
fighting for the smallest of breath.
then, i loose sense of what's happening.
searching for the surface in a watery grave.
panicked and stricken with fear, my body screams for air.
i prepare to breathe in the salted sea.
And with that urgent gasp, a powerful rush of water instantly fills my lungs.

With that, I wake up.

*while writing this, it became clear to me that i
didn't feel happy, relieved, or secure
when I woke up in my bed.

instead, i felt a sinking pit in my stomach that I was, where I am.
something has to change*

For some reason I'm blanking on the name of this Game.
(it will come to me)
My Father brought this game back from one of his many travels abroad.
can't tell you how many hours my family has clocked on this sucker.
I still play it for hours on the floor as if I were still four years old;
always picking out my favorite marbles:
Clear, Lapis Lazuli, and the one that looks like a Cow's Eye.

It's the little things.

25.10.09 10:48pm. 'L' Account:
It was rainy and brisk while heading back out to the Burbs.
I silenced out all noise besides the words of Edgar Allen Poe held in my hand.

Then, a woman's voice rang so bold, so clear, and so sudden.
It was heard as if she was saying it directly to me...

"Expect the Unexpected"

I sat up straight and turned around as if there was something to see.

then my exhausted brain started swirling those three words around in a fine Snifter;
it formed into exquisite complexity.

I'm still savoring the thoughts.
