Last Night

Due to the Winter weather, most of our relatives couldn't make it from Milwaukee... But it was an absolutely wonderful time, I am so thankful for my beautiful and loving family!

After the party we headed downtown to a bar called The Paramount:

The picture above is of the Margarita I ordered, shaken with egg white.
I'd never heard of such things, so I had to try it! Not bad.

Chicago Blizzard! (sounds like a fabulous mixed drink)

I'm waiting patiently till the clock trikes 3, then I'll attempt and pretend to handle this treacherous snow. Tonight is our BIG family party. I adore the politics, news, laughter, music, and conversation over drinks and food.

In the meantime, I'm listening to....

I love these boys. Always a Pick-Me-Up!

It's truly the little things in life that matter. If you take the moment to stop and notice.

Buon giorno!

It's a beautiful crisp day here is Southern California.
Storm clouds are lingering in the mountains from yesterdays rain.
The dogs are playing rather than their usual "On Guard" barking,
A morning delight.

I leave for The Chicago Land tomorrow morning.
I am quite anxious about a little project I'll be starting up while I'm back home....
I'll keep you posted!

Ciao for now.

Los Angeles Twilight

I'm a thin blooded gal.  Baby, I will admit to saying...

I've looked up to Vera-Ellen since I was a wee little one.

Truly Pitiful

I posted a while back that my digital camera died in a very mysterious manner.

I've been bitching and moaning about it since. Who can afford a new camera with just over a year of use!!??

I've wanted to share a picture of my mother.
p.s.* my printer/scanner was broken during my move*

Soooo.... I've been subjected to use this pitiful piece of technology:

*please excuse my dirty compact mirror*

Anywho, here is the picture of
mi mama:

not having a camera hurts. bad.

At times, rather than diving into a new book
(which would be a wiser thing to do)
I prefer rereading some of my favorites.
Hemingway is in my top 5 "re-read" authors.
Any emphasise on the late 19th- early 20th century, bohemian, paris, art, and debauchery.

Morning Oddity

As I've mentioned in previous posts...
Every morning, immediately after waking, I start singing a single song that my dreamy subconscious left behind. *Every single morning* The spectrum is endless.
This morning it was:

Janis Joplin
Piece of My Heart

la mia ispirazione

Monday Pick-Up:

Bird on a Wire

Perched on a wire, above a Los Angeles boulevard.
Tracking life anxiously.
Time is irrelevant, sunsets fall while sunrises wake.
Thoughts continuously come and go.
I stay perched.
Waiting for that reason to fly.

This heart races when the wind blows
always encouraging flight.
I only nuzzle within my plumage gripping with ease.
The wind dies, the chance has passed.

When will this stillness crumble?
