Undertow

I lay on the sandy shore,
with my nose in a book.
I dig my toes into the finely divided rock while gazing upon the deep blue.

Suddenly, a wave crashes ashore and rushes through my little camp.
My belongings instantly swept up by the undertow.

The tide I knew to expect was here.
The shore and the sun rapidly disappear.

You wait and wait - sometimes in astonishment of the allotted time.
Just like that, it all comes rushing in at once and you find yourself
pushing Time.
