There’s this bro in Venice Beach named Art (I don’t think that’s really his name) who I’m pretty sure is a homeless alcoholic. He makes all this really hideous, easy-looking paintings. I bought my first one (an orange hand) back when I first moved to LA. My college boyfriend who followed me out here and who was a real prick would say things when we were breaking up like, “I’m so glad I don’t have to stare at that retarded hand anymore!” He was super mean about my hand, but whatever.
