Morbid?

Sporadically, matt and I went to the forest lawn memorial yesterday afternoon.
Within the grounds, on the hilltop perches a tiny museum.
After viewing the sketches of Matisse,
we meandered about.
passing one elaborate gravestone after another.
It was a clear and cool 'winter' day in los angeles,
the wind howling up and over the hills.

Was it morbid? Somewhat.
Was it Pleasant? Oddly, very much so.

Joy accompanied me as I walked.

I couldnt help but feel like Maude...
with a hobby of attending funerals and roaming around cemeteries.

Wednesday Mood

To Dream of a Life...
Walking along the current of the Seine and roaming the Rues of Paris, day in - day out.
To write local mean time, at a large wooden desk with fresh flowers, a never cooling cup of coffee, floor to ceiling windows, and creaky wooden floors.
To venture out into raw and natural wonders. To lay under our celestial blanket, breathing deeply, and embracing the silence within.

Dreams are necessary to life.

Peaks of Light

Last night,
myself and a couple work friends went to the Cinema to see
L'illusionniste
which was really wonderful
(though, not anywhere near the goodness of Triplets)

Then it was followed by good company, sushi, wine, dark chocolate,
and an extensive conversation.

This morning looks bright, it's time to venture out.

The Oasis

Agua Caliente Cahuilla Indian Canyon - Palm Springs

We weaved our way out of Palm Springs and into the Reservation;
accompanied by fresh gusts of wind, a crisp blue sky and a warm 80 degrees.
As we slowly descended into the canyon, the lightest and most insignificant parts of self separated from my body.
My heart grew stronger, my legs found balance, and my senses sharpened.
The song of frogs along the babbling creak led me further along;
passing a cathedral of Palms, vertically placed rocks, and rolling sage.
My mind sped back in time, dreaming of those before...
Here in this Wild Desert.

I keep lands locked in my heart;
for always.
