Positive Thoughts

This wooden statue was brought back by my father from a far away land.
My dad traveled a lot when we were kids. His pack would be filled with eccentric, quirky, beautiful, and odd gifts upon his return. I listened so intently to the history/story, and his experiences while abroad. My eyes would be beaming with jealousy (even at the age of 5) and my mind racing with vivid imagery.

You rub his back for good luck/ good fortune.
I've been in the habit to rubbing his back daily, if not several times a day.

My belief in him is strong. You rub my back- I'll rub yours.

On a sad and abrupt note.
Dear Sir Chaplin: Recover Well!
My roommates Dog Chaplin was rushed to the Vet last night... Twisted Stomach.
He caught the Marley & Me Disease.
(we both were more aware and paranoid about the subject matter, and it happens!)
He had an emergency surgery and is now in recovery.

Stay strong Chap-o, you'll be home chewing things up once again!
