slow morning

For someone who clocks her commute minute by minute...

the sun is reaching up earlier, day-by-day. 

summer is coming. 

On Keeping Up

Exhausted.

 Challenging few weeks. 

Couple things I've been thinking about: 

1. will I be able to sustain enough energy when training begins?

2. I'm fully convinced raising someone else's children 

is harder than raising your own?

salty breeze, mixed rum drink, a large hat, and the waters of a warm tropical beach 

is where I want to be, now.

Dare I Say...

That I miss pulling espresso? 

no matter how demanding a baristas job is...

I miss it. 

In the AM

I make my way up to work on mulholland drive, and

hit this bend around 5:45am everyday.

But for the past couple weeks this jaunt has become less pleasant.

The issue is Deer.

They've been in the habit of bolting in front of my car.

or better, when rounding a corner

confronted by one standing stone cold in the lane -

causing my heart to skip a beat.

Mind you, I always pass a handful of cars on this drive....

and now I'm damn near convinced those

Deer wait for my car.

After the first, I've succumbed to sauntering my way up those hairpin turns

at 10 instead of 20.
