Art Time

The Potato Eaters 1885 by Vincent Van Gogh. Oil on Canvas

This painting inspired a modern day Potato Eaters.

A project I entitled The Ramen Eaters. *Ramen noodle*
Starving Artists sitting around, broke, drinking beer.

There was a breakfest nook in my old apartment. I walled it with dry wall and began painting just the background of the Potato Eaters.

Close to finished product

After setting the scene and jerry-rigging a light above, the peasants come in...

Some friends, starting from the left: Erika, Markus, Turner, Bill, Josiah.
I took a slew of pictures within a few minutes, and just like that my month project was over.

Final Product: The Ramen Eaters 2005 by me: Lauren Rutledge

Bill Ross photoshopped the chosen picture for me.

music appreciation mornin'

personal glimpse: An oddity

Every morning, immediately after waking, I start singing a single song that my dreamy subconscious left behind. *Every single morning* The spectrum is endless. From Donovan to Lavender Diamond. James Carr to Bob Dylan.

This morning it was Wildwood Flower By The Carter Family

Now listening to:

The Boswell Sisters

Rise 'n' shine

Good Morning! The coffee pot is on and I'm waiting for the sun to show it's lovely face. In the meantime....

Meet William. A local Chicago baby.

I combed his hair over, off his sweaty brow on that hot and muggy summer day. His expression is priceless. I'm quite sure he was criticizing my Old 35mm Cannon "student camera"
